Meander Around America

September 11, 2014

I’ve spent the past two months studying for the GRE.  The verbal section of the GRE was probably the hardest part for me.  I have the hardest time memorizing vocabulary, especially words that have multiple meanings.  I get that the GRE is mainly about strategy, but having to memorize words I never use with multiple meanings and when to use which meaning was a pain.

Anyway, meander was one of those words.

1.  Verb – to wander aimlessly

Summer at the Sutro Baths

September 8, 2014

I’ve always wondered if “Indian Summer” was politically correct to say or not.  Only someone from San Francisco would wonder this really.  Summers in San Francisco are an interesting thing.  Unlike the rest of the country where summers are from the end of May to August, in San Francisco, it’s really from August to November.  So the “Indian Summer” is really just our normal summer season.  San Francisco has some weird weather anyway, but it was nice not having to bring light layers like you normally have to. SF Fashion Incubator – Dahae Kim

April 30, 2014

Out of the 5 designers I met, Dahae Kim, a contemporary menswear designer, was my favorite.  Originally from South Korea, In 2007, Dahae received a scholarship from the CFDA and attended the Academy of Art University where she received her BFA in Menswear Fashion Design in 2009.  Two years later, Dahae was named as a best emerging designer of 2011 from the San Francisco Fashion Award.  In 2012, she taught fashion design at Raffles International College in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. After forming her original label, D’Homme, she then applied to the San Francisco Fashion Incubator and was admitted for the 2014/15 year.  At the San Francisco Fashion Incubator, she plans to rebrand her label to the current name, aDiKtion. The Fashion Incubator of San Francisco

Meet me at The Bourbon Room

April 15, 2014

Tank tops are a staple of my closet.  Sometimes I cut up t-shirts to make them into tank tops, which is what I did with my old Ramones t-shirt.  It’s not unusual for the people in my circle to wear a tank top out to the nightclub even if it’s cold.  To stay warm this Saturday night, I decided to wear a faux fur, swing coat.
